Worth visiting!

Subtly Different

The thing I remember most about the Netherlands was how just about every house had a HUGE front window that was not covered up at all. As we drove down the road we could look at people doing their lives.

hihi

hihi.. That’s so funny to hear.
How is it in your country?
It’s true that you can see sometimes what we do. But we can also see the people who are looking ;) and it’s nice to have light from outside in the room..
But in the evening I mostly close the curtains. Than it’s dark outside, and you can really really good look in our livingroom. (Not everyone have to see me on the couch, watching tv)

Here the windows are at least half the size they were there. Also there’s almost always some kind of curtain or drapes over them, at the very least a white gauzy layer that keeps people from looking in. I like having lots of light, as well, but I compromise by putting up the gauzy layers. Here, it’s very unusual to be able to see into anyone’s house from the road, day or night. I think we are just a lot more private (which isn’t necessarily a good thing!). On the plus side, smaller windows helps with the gas bill :D

Windows..

That’s fun to hear what it’s like somewehere else. I think I have a better idea by your description. It’s just what’s normal is in different countrys..
And yes, with the gas bill it should help a lot to have smaller windows!
