Eilat
Worth visiting!
It's all about the sea — 2 years ago
Eilat- the most remote city in Israel (to most of the Israelis), is on the southern tip of the country. Countless times, on the nationwide weather report, they even forget to mention it. However, it is considered Israel’s hottest (and at the same time coolest), most attractive, tourist spot! Reddish tones, and dry climate, of the desert mountains that encircle the city give the visitor many nearby nature trails. From tiny motels to grand hotels, from delicious food served in many restaurants to a veriaty of night clubs, pubs, parties, and festivals, the city welcomes tourists. But, frankly, it’s all about the sea. Eilat sits on the shores of the Red Sea- home for dazzling coral reefs and marine fauna and flora. Sea-related attractions include windsurfing, parasailing, kitesurfing, boating, just chilling on the beach, snorkling, and of course SCUBA diving. Two places that are also worth visiting are the Dolphin Reef and the Underwater Observatory Marine Park (of Coral World). Sadly, the reefs detiriorate at an alarming rate- because of pollution, and humans who disrespect mother earth (or in this case, father sea). Yet, there is still plenty to see at the Gulf of Eilat, and people come here to dive from different parts of the world. The atmosphere in Eilat is very laid-back; a total contrast to the stressed Israeli lifestyle. Oh, and Eilat is also good for shopping- it’s VIT free.
But really, the reason I love Eilat, is not because of the clubs, nor the hotels, and shopping is not too fulfilling – it’s really just plainly all about the Red Sea.
