Worth visiting!

Great Experience!

If you are interested in a personal story of how one courageous family became part of the Dutch Underground and worked to save many Jews during World War II, this is the place to visit. The Ten Booms were devout Christians and Corrie became an evangelist after the war, so their story cannot be told without the guide talking about their faith and how God led them. I knew this story before I visited by seeing The Hiding Place DVD and reading Corrie ten Boom’s book that has the same name. Being in their home was like stepping back in time and realizing all they risked to help people they didn’t know. You are able to see their hiding place where several Jews and underground workers hid when the Gestapo raided the house. They were all saved but the Ten Booms went to prison. It is wonderful to hear the rest of the story of Corrie’s life and how she shared with people all over the world the need to forgive your enemies and the message that God will be with you through any struggle.
To be admitted into the museum you must be there when the guide opens the door (at the time set on the clock on the door). People don’t seem to be able to join the tour if they are late. Our tour lasted 1 hour. The story of this family is such an encouragement. It was the highlight of our trip to Europe with our teenagers.
