Worth visiting!

A question about this place:
If I were coming to Mississippi, what one thing should I make sure I see, or what one place should I eat at?  — 2 years ago

I love homemade cornbread. Good suggestion! Thanks.

I was activated post-Katrina to go down to Louisiana as part of a contingent of 60 Pennsylvania ambulance teams, but we were put on hold for a week while the bureaucrats argued over paperwork. We were never sent.

There’s always southern cooking, just about anywhere will do, I got a good fried pork chop at a gas station in mississippi one time totally by accident, I had stopped to avoid a rain storm.

As for me personally, I make sure to hit Ward’s hamburgers, which is a small chain, when I am in Mississippi, they have some weird root beer and some chili cheese burgers. It’s kind of like going to Sonic but I figure if I am out of town I should eat something I don’t have at home. I’ve only seen Ward’s in Mississippi, I don’t know if they exist in other places.

Ward’s sounds interesting. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have to look out for one when I’m passing through.

That would count toward my goal of visiting all 50 states. There’s been several states that I’ve just driven through (Arkansas and Oklahoma to name a couple).

Well I live in Tupelo. And in Tupelo we have a Buffalo Park and the house of elvis prestley. Not much but that is what we have here. I think that you should go to the coast to see the devastation that was caused by the hurricane katrina. I think that will open the eyes of the world to see the power of our Heavenly father.

Thanks for the suggestions. The destruction by hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildfires, is always a moving experience.

Mississippi is a very nice place to be.
We have our problems like everywhere else but most of the people here are down to earth good hearted people.ive been in the midsouth area all of my life.Ive been to about seven other states and the natural beauty of each state is breath taking including Arkansas especially the mountains. Most of the midsouth stil has a conscience.I would suggest trying Sams Town casinos Great Buffet I work there and have for eight and one half years the food is great and we give the best customer service we can.Mississippi and Arkansas has many great things to offer fishing, natural beauty southern hospitality and a genuine comcern for other people by most of our residents.
