Worth visiting!

Brilliant!  — 2 years ago

We visited from Melbourne to Sydney and places in between – going the coastal route up and the inland route back. Also Wilson’s Prom, Phillip Island and the Great Ocean Road. All fantastic. (Flies are a pain in the arse though). Will go back again!

Great Ocean Road

This (gor) is one of the great destination drives in the world …

I also drove the coastal road from Melbourne to Sydney and thouroughly enjoyed it, but I’m a driving fiend and its a long, long day… so I wouln’t recommend doing it in one stretch unless you too are addicted to being on the road….there’s simply too much to see in Melbourne and Sydney to take the time for this route, unless you have lots of it…. but you should MAKE time for the other places mentioned for sure!

Coastal Road

I did enjoy Sydney and Melbourne, but much preferred the places outside the cities. We did the drive from Melbourne to Sydney in 3 days – 2 overnights at Narooma and one other. We did one overnight on the return journey.

Our holiday was just over 3 weeks. Next trip there will include the Great Barrier Reef and possibly Tasmania.

Tasmania has a different feel

Its not like being in the other parts of Australia I have been to at all … if you are into hiking the area around Cockle Creek (a world Heritage site) is fantastic.
