A review of this place

Shiloh National Military Park is located at the site of the 1862 Civil War battle between the Confederate forces under Generals Albert Sidney Johnston and P.G.T. Beauregard and the Union forces under the command of Major General Ulysses S. Grant. The park is well-maintained and staffed by a knowledgeable ranger staff. The park contains an exhibit at the Visitor’s Center which gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the battle. The park also has a vehicle tour in which you can view many of the major battlefield locations from the comfort of your vehicle. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Park staff leads interpretive programs which are very informative and much recommended. The park hosts several living history demonstrations throughout the year with the major one being the Battle of Shiloh anniversary demonstration on April 6 and 7. It is also recommended that you visit the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center located 22 miles southwest of Shiloh in Corinth, Mississippi. More information can be found at the National Park Website http://www.nps.gov/shil/index.htm
