If you want to see what the policitians mean when they talk about “the Heartland” or “Main Street,” Covington is it. They still have a town square, one stoplight, and little diners where the farmers and retirees gather to talk about the weather (and how it will affect the crops). Babies are born, people get married, teens have nothing to do so they get into mischief, and everything good has gravy on it. Time goes by but Covington doesn’t change – it’s largely unaffected by the world outside of it. If you want to see a place where people are still kind, watch out for each other, live on casseroles, and work for a living, stop by Covington. You’ll be glad you did!
