St John is one of the most beautiful serene places in the world. if you are laid back, or want an escape from reality this is the place to go. everyone is so friendly, and laid back. you feel at home even if youve never been here before. the first time i went i was 16. i decided that i was going to live there at some point. its a very small island, more than half is a national park. there is a “downtown” that is just a loop with some stores and plenty of bars. the best one is woody’s (country star kenny chesneys favorite place) the owners are awesome. they’re from chicago i think and the moved to st john about ten years ago and opened up the bar. the best food in the world is at this bar. burgers, fresh fish and curly fries :) yum. theres the beach bar, wich is pretty self explanatory.. go there and get a bushwacker. like a chocolate milkshake but with alcohol :) as for the beaches, maho is the best. very secluded, white sand, crystal clear water, great snorkling, if you stand in the water so many fish will come up and say hello. you’ll see sting rays, and angel fish. . . trnuk bay is the biggest tourist attraction. you have to pay to get in, but there is amazing snorkling there. there are all sorts of ruins around the island and there are little things that tell you what they are. theres plenty to explore. on the other side is skinny legs/coral bay. there are some shops on that side, but my favorite are all the road signs. there are “dip” signs and the locals have added some words.. skinny dip, crap dip, big dipper, dip shit, and a few others. i cant tell you all about it here, you’ll have to check it out
