Some of my favorite Jungle Cruise lines by russellviii

  • This fierce Bengal tiger can jump 15 feet! But don’t worry, were 14 feet from the shore. He’ll jump right over the top of us.
  • These elepants have been bathing in this pool for 50 years. It’s okay to take pictures. They’re all wearing their trunks.
  • Coming up ahead is Schweitzer Falls, named after that famous explorer, Dr. Albert Falls.
  • On the left you can see the second-most feared creature in the jungle, the African Bull Elephant. Here on the right is the most feared, his mother in-law.
  • Coming up on your left, the back side of water.
  • Here’s something that you don’t see every day, but I do.
  • Here’s Trader Sam, the head salesman here in the jungle. Business has been shrinking lately, that’s why he’s offering a special two for one deal. Yes, two of his heads for…one of yours. Any way that you look at it, you still come out…a head.
  • Please exit the boat in the same manner as you entered…pushing, shoving, fighting.
  • As you leave please remember to watch your head. If you forget, and bump your head, please remember to watch your language.

Another one of my favorites is no longer used on the Jungle Cruise. Its use was discontinued when the crocodile pool was removed.

  • Remember to keep your hands and arms inside the boat. These are the laziest crocodiles in the jungle. They’re always looking for a hand out.

Maybe...

when you get tired of being an engineer you can be a Jungle Cruise captain. You would be great at that!!

Belive it or not

That thought has crossed my mind a time or two.

R9 and I were having such a discussion the other day. I told him that I would probably enjoy driving either the monorail or the steam train.

Let me know...

when you do it. I will come to Disneyland to see you!

So do you really have SNOW?!! Is this early in the year for that in your area, or about the right time?

I always like the idea of snow. I love watching it fall and I think it’s very pretty. But after a couple weeks I get tired of it and don’t want to mess with the hassle of slogging through the melting stuff to the bus or worry about driving on ice. So it’s good we don’t get snow for long periods here in Seattle.

I think you should take a picture of that snow for us so we can enjoy it without having to shovel it. :)

I had forgotten these these...

lines. I laughed at everyone of them AGAIN! It’s amazing the silly things you can remember,,,you put me in mind of Agent Maxwell Smart when he describes his ability to not forget details ~ “My mind is like a steel trap” ;- )

It's all in the delivery

I’ve heard some of the skippers tell say the lines and laugh myself silly. Others say the exact same words and I don’t even smile.

There are a lot of lines that are used on the Jungle Cruise. Not all of them are used by every skipper on every voyage. Sometimes I’ll go to Disneyland and ride the Jungle Cruise multiple times during my stay, and still I’ll not hear some of my favorites. I’m always delighted to hear the one about Schweitzer Falls being named after the Dr. Albert Falls, and the quip about the mother in-law.
