Did you say you speak portuguese? Well, since I´m not sure, I´ll answer you in my poor English.

Maceió is located in the northeast coast of Brasil, and it´s a very laid back city with a very nice and warm people. I´ve been there about 10 times and the best season to go is from november to march (summer), because in the winter, it rains a lot. You can, though, get very nice deals in april/may/september/october, when tickets and hotels are cheaper.

The most beautiful beaches are located in the south, like Barra de São Miguel and Praia do Francês, with its white sands and clear water. There is also Gunga Beach, near Barra de São Miguel, located between the sea and a lagoon. The best way to get there is by boat, and this is where a former president of Brasil, who was better known for his sports skills than for his abilities as a president, used to ride his jet ski.

The north also has beautiful beaches like Sonho Verde and Pairipuera . The city beaches, like Jatiúca and Ponta Verde, have many good bars, restaurants and hotels.

You can´t miss Pajuçara’s natural pools, where people get by “jangada” (a handmade boat). There, you will spot lots of marine creatures and can swim among them.

I hope you can go to Maceió soon. I wold like to return there myself, since it’s been long since the last time I went.
