A castro was a celtic village,I think,( my wife can’t be bothered answering me),they are dotted all over Galicia,and that’s why the nasty dictator Fidel is called what he is.Anyway,what of El Castro in Vigo?
El Castro in Vigo is the name of a castle which dominates the town,and provides great views of the town and bay.The castle has been planted out with trees making a pleasant park.
Much more important of course is the parks role for free car parking and as a place for youths to drink at the weekend.
I must get a picture of the cross at the front of the park in memory of Franco’s victory in the Spanish civil war,and painted pink in protest at it not being pulled down yet.
