Warren County, something for everyone
At the beginning of the 1800’s settlers came to log abundant forests, mid-century they came to drill for oil. Their legacy to all is the National Historic District in the city of Warren and the villages of Sugar Grove and testament to the wealth that logging and oil brought to the region. Each summer, the renovated Struthers Library Theatre provides the region with professional summer theatre.
The diversity of the region makes this a great vacation destination for singles, families, and motor coach groups. Activities that are available include: the Allegheny National Forest, Kinzua dam and the Allegheny Reservoir; the wild and scenic Allegheny River, Chapman State Park, shop the BLAIR Retail Store or one of the many antique and specialty shops, tour a museum, or dine at one of our fine restaurants.
Summer brings warm sunny days to enjoy boating on the reservoir, canoeing the Allegheny River, hiking and biking trails, fairs, festivals and sporting events. Autumn brings a spectacular display of autumn foliage; roadside stands laden with crafts, fellies and other harvest items. The region is a winter playground: snowmobile, cross-country skiing, sledding, hiking through snow white quiet forests, and ice fishing on the reservoir. With spring comes rebirth: wild flowers, fawns, eaglets and Mountain Laurel blooming throughout the forest.
