Warwick Castle

Going in April...  — 3 years ago

My boyfriend Mark and I are going here in April. He’s been before, I have not. I am very excited about this castle, especially the Birds of Prey show because I just love birds. I’m excited about the wax figures as well.

If I recall...

It was very impressive. I’d like to live in that style for awile—enjoy! Don’t they do medevil banquents there?

Yes, they do hold medevil banquets there. However, since we are squeezing in our wedding now and Scotland and Canterbury as well as London we think we are going to have to put Warwick off. Not enough time to see everything you know!

But, we did add something new to our trip. He is going to take me to see Mary Poppins in theatre!!!

Good deal!

I lived there for 4 years and couldn’t see everything! Best of luck kiddo—enjoy!

Kingmaker

Yes, the feasts are called Kingmaker feasts, and they do it at Warwick Castle and at an old half-timbered pub in Birmingham which dates back to the same era. They make like it’s the night before the 1st battle of St Albans the next day & the guests are the army of the Earl of Warwick, the most powerful man in the country at the time (the Kingmaker of the feast’s name). Lots of toasts of mead, with a cry of “A Warwick!”

I’ve visited several castles around England, and from what I have seen so far, Warwick is definitely the best. It’s well-preserved, has lots of interesting exhibits, and the view from atop the towers is unparalleled.

yeah,

my husband says it’s the best too. We never made it unfortunately as we went up to Scotland, spent time with friends, and ran short on time together.

Will see soon hopefully.

Well, now it’s only 2 days until my husband comes for a visit!

Cheers,
Sissy
