Why I want to go to this place  — 5 months ago

I am traveling with my husband and kids to visit Tunisia this summer. From there, my husband and I are going to leave our kids with his parents and we are going to travel to Egypt for a few days. I am really excited about it. We only have a few days, but my husband and I haven’t traveled alone together…ever! Any suggestions, advice, or comments would be greatly appreciated. We are staying at the Oasis Hotel near the pyramids in Giza. Has anyone stayed there? Thanks!

Hi there, we haven’t stayed in the Oasis Hotel before, however i know its near to the Pyramids and would only cost you 1 pound starling by taxi to get there from the hotel.

you should also visit khan el khalely, its great to go there around the evening time, smoke shesha on one of the cofe shops( even if you are not a smoker its fun to do).
Becareful crossing the streets, may be get your husband (I am assuming he speaks Arabic) to agree a price with a taxi driver to spend all day with you taking you to all the diffrent places. 200 Egyptian pounds for the day should be fair. if your husband is Tunisian he should get cheaper entrance fee to most of the sites .
go by the nile and get on one of the fullucas, sailing down the nile is not to be missed.
shopkeepers will hassle you to buy from them, remember you don’t have to buy anything, after all they are very friendly people
all the best and have great time. it will be fun. ahmed

Thanks!

Yes, my husband is Tunisian and does speak Arabic. I do smoke shesha (though not in front of my in-laws) and I love it. Thanks for your advice and suggestions. We have a tour scheduled and we are taking a dinner cruise on the nile in the evening, but I will be sure to look into your suggestions. I am VERY excited. Thank you so much for your comments.
