Try the duckboat tours. They take you all around the city and into the Charles river. Go to the observatory at the top of the Prudential Tower. Head over to Cambridge and check out Harvard’s campus. If you’re going to Fenway, grab a bite at Boston Beerworks. Walk down Newbury street with all the boutique shops. Walk into the very first Ritz-Carlton at the end of Newbury, which is now the Taj Hotel. Check out the public gardens and boston common. Skope out the old mansions on the coblestone streets in Beacon hill. Oh and you must have a bite to eat at Parrish Cafe at Boylston and Arlington – Best sandwich in town.
I could go on. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip

you can check out craigslist.org. Theres always tickets on there whether from a website or from a person.
Things to do depends on what you like – theres the aquarium, the imax theater, science museum, 5-wits tomb (interactive Egyptian thing..looks neat), duck tours, walking tours, etc. If you want to go out of Boston there is Harvard Sq. in Cambridge, the Cambridge Side Galleria mall, Sturbridge Village, Six Flags, etc.
If you are into comedy theres a few comedy places in Boston. Improv is my favortie! There’s the ImprovBoston and Improv Assylum. Also, there’s a HILARIOUS dragqueen cabaret show called Jacques Cabaret! Definately worth seeing! Sooo funny.
I haven’t really eaten much in Boston but places I have eaten at were great! KnowFat – healthier food but tastes like its sooo bad for you! They are changing there name to UFood Grill so not sure if they did or not. Something similar to KnowFat and is decent is BGood. Then Bennigans has great food and dessert!

Take a walk through George Washington Park or the Duck boats. Have a drink in Harvard Square, hit Faniel Hall (sp) go to the top of the Hancock or Prudential building (I forget the name of it but look for the tallest sky scraper) you can take a trolly and do the Liberty tour. Go to the North End for great eats. Oh and check out Beacon Hill!

I just enjoy walking in Boston. I like to visit Boston Common and watch people play in and around the fountain. Then I like to walk past the Old Statehouse toward the South Church. I look at antique and book shops. Then I like to wander over to the Quincy Market to look around and maybe find some good food.
While doing these things I’m always looking around, taking in the sights of the city. It’s one of my favorite cities to visit. You’ve just reminded me that I haven’t been there in a very long time. Maybe I should head back there one day soon.

P.S. Don’t miss the Freedom Trail. That was a highlight of my first visit.

It was a couple of years since I visited Boston as a tourist from UK. I would spend most of my time on foot – Boston is a great size to just walk around and soak up the atmosphere of the city. I would do the Duck Tours like many others have mentioned. And if you like a little history/culture do the Freedom Trail walk. It is interesting but you do it at your own pace and can stop off along the way do do anything else (like eat!) that you wish. Also I enjoyed taking a walk up Newbury street. there are lots of trendy shops there but I liked the library and the buildings around that area. You could take a trip out to MIT and visit the campus. Finally spend some time around Quincy Market. A bit touristy but good place to get a bit of food and drink and people watch. I also enjoyed a trip to the old battleship USS Constitution if you are into that sort of thing. http://www.ussconstitution.navy.mil/
Enjoy your trip!

There are no reputable places to get Sox tickets; pay through the nose or not at all. Sorry.
I wrote a one-day guide to Boston here, if it helps:
