Worth visiting!
Despite being war torn and full of testerone packed soldiers and development do-gooders, an aire of peacefulness and innocence is everywhere. Children play and kites fly. Hospitality abounds. Hopefully the country will open up again someday.

I’d like to be able to one day. I’d like to think that the Afghani way of life which had withstood thousands of years of attempted external influences yet survived as a unique culture can, in the fullness of history, treat the last 35 years as an historical “blip”.
In this vast world surely there is room for people to follow their own different and unique ways of life; maybe it’s just possible that we don’t all want to be Russians or Americans.
