It’s one of the few places in Iceland where you’ll see trees!
Lovely mild climate – you wouldn’t think you were only 60 miles from the Arctic Circle.

Yeah, they have quite a nice micro-climate there with the southerly winds drying up and warming up over the land to the south and the northerly ones mostly stopping on the mountains. I also think they keep quite warm summer weather there for a bit longer than in the south while spring starts a little bit later. But that also means you can go skiing there at easter.. something which isn’t always possible in the south :)
