Worth visiting!

A review of this place: My trip of pure relaxation...

was just that. The beaches are beautiful. The people are super friendly, down to earth and genuinely happy. It has been as such in most all the Caribbean Islands that I have visited. Which, in my opinion, undoubtedly, is accredited to the fact that they live in pure paradise – or at least from our perspective. And the beer! El Presidente rocks! An y place that I have been able to find it since, I order it up.Miami for sure…but it’s overly priced in the U.S. compared to down there. The price you pay to reconnect with your personal bit of heaven I suppose. My only word of advice for visiting la Republica Dominicana is that you get what you pay for. If the vacation seems really cheap, there will be something lacking. In my case, it was the food. And I imagine that since it is a highly under-devoloped country, a long weekend trip is more than sufficient b/c there is not much to do outside of the resorts. No shopping! Just little table vendors they bring into the resorts. There is an awesome, really well known club, which for the life of me I cannot remember the name of, but don’t go without someone at the resort in attendance. Just in case…
Enjoy!

sounds like you had a great time. What areas were the least touristy yet still very beautiful and close to the beach? I am trying to find a place in January to go where I am not bombarded by the tourism.
