This is where we went on one of our department outings while I was still in ADB. The hotel was in Puerto Princesa but we went to the Underwater River, Vietnam Village, Iwahig Prison Colony and of course, the beaches. Definitely another place that I would like to visit again.

I lived here in 1985 and worked with Vietnamese Refugees. I hung out, taught English and drank a lot of San Miguel (it was safer to drink than the local water). I have good memories of the Underground River, a long bus trip to El Nido on a terrible road, the Penal Colony and Puerta Princesa itself. I have been back to the Philippines many times since then, but have never been back to Palawan. Hopefully some day.
