Tex Mex by Daniel Spils

Complete with sugar cane, mint leaves and a fat slice of citrus, the mint julep was as authentic and delicious as any in recent memory. The rest of my meal was good … but not great. However, my friend Whitney’s catfish was excellent. I’ll definitely go back again to order other items off the menu. Barbacoa wins on the quaint hole-in-the-wall front, too.

I thought of you ...

… when I wrote the post. I’d be interested to see what you think once you’ve sampled a mint julie from Barbacoa. Mint julie … I just coined that phrase.

Maybe I need to make it to Seattle

I have honestly never heard of drinking a mint julep in a Tex-Mex restaurant. What a refreshing and original idea. Whooda thunk it?
