Worth visiting!

Parrsboro, Nova Scotia

As a native Nova Scotian, this is easily my favourite place to visit. Its 2.5 hours from Halifax and well worth a day trip. The beaches are great with their red sand and cliffs with the fundy tides washing way out so you can roam the dunes and search for amethyst. There is a campground with a site right overlooking the beach. Also, there are two waterfalls worth seeing, one requires a hike along a brook – absolutely beautiful as the sun fills the path… Enjoy.

waterfalls?? (O.O)!

I thought I had seen everything there was to see in Parrsboro (where I stay each time I’ve been to NS…okay, well, we sleep in Port Greville…but spend most of our time in Parrsboro…’cause…well…there really isn’t anything IN Port Greville…hehe).

Where are these waterfalls you speak of?? I LOVE waterfalls and would LOVE to see them! I will be going back again next August, I believe—so I’ve gotta mention this to my boyfriend.

Waterfalls

Thanks for the cheer. The first waterfall is Hidden Falls, about 5 kms east of Parrsboro on the old/small highway. Its only 300 m from the highway and 38 m high, and quite pretty. The other waterfall is Ward’s Falls, about 7 km west of Parrsboro along Hwy 209 near the village of Diligent River. Not a difficult hike, but a nice walk if you have the time.

Ward's Brook Falls - Parrsboro, Nova Scotia

I have been to these falls many times – it is a fun 30-45 hike back to the falls with a great trail which has been well maintained with bridges put in place for those harder to get over spots.

Pack a lunch as you can rest back at the falls and relax and enjoy a lunch with that special someone or just a bunch of friends hiking for fun.

Next time I get back there I will have to take a few pictures to share with everyone. Have to get before hunting season or who knows if I will get back to tell the story. :) :)
