My sister is planning her wedding for 2006
and I think this may be the venue. They have an oyster festival every Columbus Day weekend that is supposed to be fantastic. Check out the town website.

Oh, ok. I’ll have to check out York. I am assuming that it is on the coast. I bet it was gorgeous.
I have had a “Maine fantasy” for awhile. Of renting a house (small, rustic, with a screened-in porch) on the coast, for the winter.
Cold, stormy, wet, wooded. Quiet.

Great fantasy
Check out mid-coast – Rockland, Camden, Rockport, Owl’s Head – winter rentals would be affordable and the area is beautiful in all seasons (well – maybe not in mud season).
York is on the southern coast – 7 miles from the NH border. It has 2 small and 1 long beach, a colonial era downtown and a tiny harbor with 2 inns and amazing views. Under an hour from Portland, a hop, skip & jump to tax free Portsmouth NH and it doesn’t shut down when all the tourists leave. It has something for everyone.
