Route 1 wends south from Amish land, thence to ferry by cafegroundzero
The ferry goes through Cave-in-Rock or Golconda across the Ohio to Kentucky, where you have a very nice, smooth, almost straight shot toward Cadiz or Princeton, Kentucky, from where you can within minutes access the Interstate 24 that shoots west over the Land between the Lakes (the flooded lands of many people and commmunities to make juice for the TVA) and also flys east toward Clarksville and Nashville.
What I love about Hardin County is its forests, hills, caves, riverfront, wooded bluffs, quiet family farms, little Southern Illinois communities, the migration of the snakes, and much much more.
