Expensive as hell. by InfinityParadox

A paperback with a suggested retail price of 5.99 USD, for example, sells for 12.99 USD here. Bloody REVOLTING!

And if that were not bad enough, they had someone reading tarot in a little booth upstairs.

Hey

Yeah we do have people reading tarot… but it like anything else shouldn’t be taken seriously and as for the prices it is better than buying from the soulless corporations…

I’d just as soon wipe my ass with my favourite book as pay 12.00 for some grubby paperback at BookPeople.

Corporations are soul-less. You’re right. But probably no moreso than the owners of ‘BookPeople’, in all likelihood. The problem, however, is with capitalism, and not the owners of your little store…

BookPeople employees are probably exploited just as horribly as employees of Amazon, Borders, etc. Correct me if I’m wrong.

There is no ‘dollar vote’ under capitalism. So if, like me, you want to bring the fight to the ‘soulless corporations’, by all means help out. Until then, I’m going to buy used books on Amazon or check them out from the library.
