I was visiting friends, but I found this to be a relaxing, quiet, little place. I expected it to be, “HOO-RAW- SPRINGBREAK 2005!!!!”, but it was really chill. I actually ran out of things to do but I really enjoyed riding on the river taxis in the “Venice of the US”. If you’re looking for super wild party action, I’d say hit Miami- but if you just want to chill on the beach Ft. Lauderdale is a good place to go. Make sure you take your wallet, though- some places are pretty ritzy.
