Worth visiting!

tapas

For me, Jaleo is the restaurant by which all other tapas restaurants are measured. (Granted, I’ve never been to Spain, so I can’t judge Jaleo against the real thing.) Jaleo has to be one of my favorite restaurants in this area. It’s fantastic (optimal, actually) to go with a large group, so you can order plate after plate and try a wide variety of different “tastes.”

Tapas

If you ever make it back to Chicago, there’s a tapas restaurant here called Cafe Iberico that is amazing. Everything about it reminds me of my time in spain… the queso de cabra, the croquettas, and of course the Sangria.

I've been to both...

admittedly Jaleo several times, Café Iberico 4-5 years ago, but I seem to recall thinking that CI was somewhat weaker in variety.

However, this is hardly a fair comparison; Jaleo is refreshed in my memory every few months.

I would say the Bethesda Jaleo (it has 2 sites) is preferable to the Chinatown Jaleo.
