Worth visiting!

what a neat experience

I went to Pisa on a week-long field trip in the 5th grade (I lived in Germany at the time.) This was before the Leaning Tower was closed for renovations, and I got to climb up the tower and walk out on each level. I remember what an odd feeling that was…on one side, I felt like I was falling up against the wall, and the other side, I felt like I needed to hang onto the wall so I didn’t fall off. We also visited a domed building nearby (I don’t know what it’s called…just a memory) and there was a choir singing. They would sing one note and stop singing, but the note hung in the air like magic. They proceeded to sing a series of notes, one note at a time, and each note hung in the air to build layer upon layer of a beautiful harmony, until each one began to disappear like fog dissipating in the morning sunlight. Even as a fifth-grader, I felt like it was just a beautiful, magical experience.

That's a great memory!

I spent some time in Italy last summer—didn’t get to go to Pisa, but I had many moving experiences there similar to yours, admittedly in different contexts and settings.
