but Chicken Alaska is fun. It’s an old gold mining town where the story goes the miners wanted to name it “Ptarmigan” but they couldn’t spell it, so they named it “Chicken” instead. The weather station used to have the call letters W-HEN. Cute. I enjoyed the long drive and short stay in Chicken.
