Worth visiting!
A Timed Trip down Takeshita street.
The photo is from outside Takeshita street I have one of the sign too but everyone posted that so I’ll share my pink lolita photo.
I have a video from this trip I’ll add a link for later!
I went to Japan witha student Travel group and had a few friends in the group who were Visual Kei fanatics like me; well after explaining what exactly Harajuku and Takeshita street were we begged our tour guide leader Akiko to take us! So we went but we only had 30 minutes to travel from one end to the other. Which made me and my friends terribly sad and we’ve already planned to go back after graduation.
Anyway Takeshita Street is AMAZING and so fun and active and colorful and just a great place to waste time. We visited a few stores me searching for antic cafe merchandise my friends looking for anything and laughing at the signs that said “NO CAMERAS FUCK YOU.” We spent a majority of our time at Yellow House. Anyone else know the place? Anyway, the lady there is so nice!!! And thought I had a very familiar look about me, haha I hated to want to say to her, “I look like every oshare kei fanatic that’s probably walked in here.” Anyway my tiny friend Anna started trying on clothes, my guy friend Jake stood back admiring how obsessed we were with Jrock, and My metal friend Heather talked to the guy in charge of the more hard rock store there, (I didn’t get to meet him, but he’s AWESOME and I’ve seen him on small shorts about Takeshita Street talking about how silly fangirls are). Well I mentioned Antic Cafe to the owner and Miyavi and she freaks out showing me the signatures and photos everywhere from ALL the bands! If you’ve ever been there or met her you have most DEFINETLY experienced this! It was great, I was shopping in a store a majority of my favorite bands had been before!!!!! Anywho we lost most of our time at yellow house, but I got an ADORABLE tanktop bunny eared black and white sweater while my friend Anna bought an entire ADORABLE visual kei outfit! (I hate her for being so tiny) The clothes sizes are so small, I’m about of average size in America and quite top heavy in the bosom area so none of the clothes I wanted really fit me unfortunetly. I will NEVER forget my experience on Takeshita street though, and I cannot wait to go back and spend every cent I have. It’s a must go place for any fan of jrock or visual kei syle or radical loud crazy awesome nonstop moving crowded action. <3
The photo is from Harajuku right outside of Takeshita Street, unfortunetly I didn’t take pictures on the actual street since there were so many NO PHOTO signs and I really didn’t want to be too tourist-y, I do have a video I definetly need to resize and upload though it’s a simulation of walking down Takeshita Street with my friends and I bitching and moaning about how we’re not stopping because Akikochan no baka in the background.
