Worth visiting!
I got evacuated on the third day of my vacation because of Ophelia. I was staying at a place oceanside on Holden Beach, I really like to be there off season, it is quiet, peaceful, and I prefer the beach when it isn’t very hot, the only risk of coming in September is that it is hurricane season. Oh, well. c’est la vie.

I live in Maryland, and our beaches are just plain YUCKY. I’d much rather drive 5-8 hours to N.C. beaches than 3 to get to O.C.

I went camping at Assateague once, it happened to rain…but the most awful part was all the mosquitos, it was because of the rain and the bugs that we left first thing in the morning.Didn’t even get to enjoy the beach there. I stopped counting my bites when I got to 100, and that didn’t even include my legs! We should have suspected something when we saw mosquito warning signs upon entering the park.
