Not worth visiting!

worth visiting post-Mugabe

I was in Harare on my way out of the country at the end of a trip. I expected to be able to check out all these cool gardens, zoo, etc. near the bus station downtown, but when I got close, soldiers with assault rifles warned me off. Apparently, all these city facilities are actually within the grounds of President Robert Mugabe’s personal home, and for his safety, no one else can come enjoy them.

But, hey, except for the armed men and the crazy inflation, it was a friendly, pleasant city. With running, drinkable tap water, which made it seem oh-so-posh after Mozambique.
