Hi Artrabbit,
For all I know, you can enter any yumcha restaurant and ask for vegetarian items. They would be glad to arrange for you.
I dont have any particular restaurant in mind.
I have been to Hong Kong as a tour leader for many times, and with each group, there are tends to be passenger who are vegetarian, what I normally do is, upon entering the yumcha breakfast restaurant, I’ll tell the captain about the vegetarian and leave the matter to him.
So far, I have no problem with this request. Thank you.

Except for Buddhists, Chinese are noted omnivores and look askance at vegetarianism. Except at touristy restaurants, chefs and line cooks might not understand nor comprehend the diversity of vegetarianism, nor extent of what individuals accept and eat. Even though in typical restaurants, you can ask for meatless dishes, broths can contain meat byproducts.
Instead, for strict vegetarians, eat at the restaurants at Buddhist temples. They usually charge less, and appreciate your support.

I agree, I have never heard of any specialised vegetarian yum cha restaurants, but there will be plenty of vegetarian dishes at any yum cha restaurant.

The nice thing about vegetarian yum cha/dim sum is vegetarians can eat some of the traditional dishes without pork (eg turnip/radish cakes etc)
I used to go in a veggie dim sum in New York called something creative like Vegetarian dim sum. It’s in Chinatown although you have to order a la carte. Sydney has one called Bodhi which is pretty good although very disorganised. I was hoping there might be a rockin one in Hong Kong. But good that there should be plenty of options since I want to have some of everything!

I agree with Chaitiamma that you can still get good food by telling the captain one of the diner is vegeterian. They will serve you gladly:)
Have fun!

there’s this very good vegetarian resturant in causway bay (on hk island). i forgot the name of it, but it’s right near the bridge between causway bay and wan chai, diagonally across from the fire hall (coming from wan chai, the resturant would be on your right before the bridge, and the fire hall would be on your left across the street, after the bridge).
