Worth visiting!

A question about this place:
I'm looking for traditional tea rooms or places that serve a lot of special single estate teas. Off the beaten path is fine. Quality of the tea is of utmost importance. Any suggestions?  — 3 years ago

I was in Hong Kong during the spring of 2002, and only occasionally went out for dim sum. The places that I did go to, I can’t remember their names or locations; usually I went with at least one or two local Hong Kong residents, and paid no attention to place names, etc. Sorry about that. Even though I can’t answer your question, I’d like to wish you a great time in the Fragrant Harbour—City of Lights!

Why so funny? Don’t tell me it’s difficult to find tea in China!

There’s a tea house in Mongkok/Kowloon, where you may buy different kind of tea and taste it there. It’s on Agyle Street, but I don’t know its English name.

i’m not sure whether they have the exact thing you’re looking for, but if you want to go to a traditional tea room, i think you should try the ‘Luk Yu’ tea room in central. if i’m not wrong it’s on stanley street and they should serve some good teas there since they’re the chinese equivalent to ‘lipton’. it’s a retro, fully authentic hong kong tea house, almost like you’ve been transported back in time, and it was frequented by many of the governors in hong kong’s past. if the tea doesn’t delight you there, at least the environment and the fully authentic hong kong food will.

if not, look around the soho, hollywood road area and i’m sure you’ll find something you like.
