Worth visiting!

Kinda dull...

I am here in Kigali, Rwanda with my boyfried who is here for work. It’s a pleasant town, very safe (I am coming from Nairobi where it’s not the safest of places.) While it is pleasant, there is not much to do and the town itself is very small. That being said, there is a small resort town on the shores of Lake Kivu, which is about a 2 hour drive from Kigali. South is a small town called Butare which has the National Museum of Rwanda, which we went to yesterday. It was very interesting and I would recommend the journey south. The gorilla trekking up north is reportedly amazing, but we don’t have time for it this trip. And I am told there is a museum of the genocide, which I haven’t visited yet.

I rated Kigali as ‘worth seeing’ as I believe everything is worth seeing once. It’s a decent stopover on the way to somewhere else.

Perhaps a visit to the museum of genocide would change how you feel.

You say it is dull. I wonder if you would say this after carefully viewing and reflecting on what happened after you visit the museum, or maybe after taking the time to see the migration.

Dull is still dull.

Even allowing several days for reflecting on the museum and what happened, 12 days in Kigali is a lot of time there. There just isn’t much to do.

And to which migration are you referring? They have the wildebeest migration in Kenya and Tanzania, but I am not aware of any migration in Rwanda.
