Unfortunately is probably the last time I’ll go to that place. Covering a business trip for a co-worker brought me to the home of the University of Georgia. As you can imagine there is tons to do in this college town. Something pretty entertaining/interesting about Athens is all over the city there are bulldog statues painted with different themes (the bulldog is the U of GA mascot.) The bulldog near all the frats is even painted in a toga! I also recommend walking downtown, you can get great Southern cooking (a treat for a Northerner like myself,) and anything from home you may be addicted to (i.e. Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.)
The only downfall to Athens is it’s about an hour and a half drive from the Atlanta airport. I heard there was an airport in Athens but is pretty unreliable (flight cancellations.)
Check this city out!
