Worth visiting!

Full of history...

But a bit quiet now. I was there during a heat wave (“Oh, we never get heat waves…you must’ve brought it with you”), so it was difficult getting around and sleeping at night. It’s easy enough to get to on the train, with lots of charming little towns around it. The shopkeepers and hotel people are very charming, very interested in your comfort. And the biscuits (read: cookies) are marvelous!

Yay, biscuits!

And don’t forget the stage in the theater, which is the only extant stage in all of England that Shakespeare actually trod as an actor!

Shakespeare? In Kings Lynn?

I did not know that (as Johnny Carson might say). Did Will like biscuits, too?

Does the stage still exist? I don’t remember seeing it.

The stage is still there...

but my recollection is that the heat wave had driven us both mad by then. Maybe we should go back sometime.

You're on!

That would be a real treat. I really miss England, its trains, the way they think. I even love those tacky newspapers. I would love to see Kings Lynn one more time.

Not far from there

I’m just down the road from King’s Lynne, in Norwich. It’s not a famous or renowned place here in the UK, so nice to see it listed. But if you miss our trains and tabloid newspapers you obviously have unconventional tastes! And thanks for the cheer for the comments on Morocco and Western Sahara!
