New York City
Chicago Pizza vs. the New York Slice cannot really be compared.
The Sicilian style comes close, if you like Sicilian slices in New York you will dig Chicago style.
Giordano’s and Pizzeria Uno are both really good for deep dish within The Loop in River North/Streeterville. Giordano’s updates the recipe every few years, so it’s my favorite. Uno (and Due, it’s counterpart) use the same 1943 original recipe, and having it in Chicago at the original location is a much different experience than your local “Uno’s Chicago Grill” would give you.
If you like thin pizza more than deep dish, try Pompei in Little Italy on Chicago’s west side.
Other pizza making standouts in The Chi are Gino’s East and Lou Malnati’s, also in Streeterville and Trattoria Roma in Old Town.
