One bird seen does not make this place a bird sanctuary.
One of the visitors claimed there were plenty of birds here on the 4th of July.
Perhaps they just came for the fireworks and then left.

Perhaps they’ve been shooing the birds away when it was discovered that they were eating too many of the endangered snails.
