Worth visiting!

A review of this place: It Was Great

The cruise was wonderful. It was the perfect way to explore the Inside Passage. The ship took us right into Glacier Bay where we could see the glaciers calving.

We also saw a lot of marine life from the ship. In particular there were numerous whales and porpoises, which we saw nearly every day.

I also enjoyed the ship. There was plenty of good food, and a lot of activities of a broad enough range to appeal to just about everybody.

The only drawback was that you spend a lot of time on the ship for only a small amount of time on the land. But that was mitigated somewhat by the fact that you could get some spectacular views from the ship.

Overall it was a tremendous experience. I’d gladly do a cruise like this one again.

It sounds amazing, Russell. Seeing glaciers calving, and all that marine life must have been fantastic.

How much time did you get to explore on land? And was that your first trip to Alaska, or had you been before?

It was truly amazing

This was my first trip to Alaska.

Like I said, the ground time, although somewhat limited, seemed adequate for what we did. We spent a total of about seven days on the ship. Here’s the rundown of our approximate times in port.

Juneau 13 hours
Sitka 9 hours
Ketchikan 6 hours
Victoria 6 hours

In fairness though, the highlight of the trip was when we spent nine hours of one day cruising through Glacier Bay on the ship.

We also slept on the ship, which skews the picture of the amount of time spent on the ship.

I felt that there was normally adequate time for the amount that there was to see in most of these towns.
