My family lived on St. Joseph’s Island in the late fifties and early sixties. My baby brother was born in the Hospital in Richards Landing 1958 December. I remember lots of snow from those days in the winters. The ferry was in operation back then (the only way of getting on the Island) some in the dead of winter would drive across on the ice.
We are going up there for a week and can’t wait to get there it’s so peaceful and beautiful the people are truly friendly and have the time to talk to you.
I have fond memories but it’s also a place to enjoy as a visitor
