Worth visiting!
I won’t for much longer but I’ve been living here basically all my life. It’s not a very large large town (though I wouldn’t call it a small one either) but it’s got everything you need. Cinemas, big and small ones, shops, bars – and a very interesting nightlife in general – restaurants, great public transportation and good schools.

Could you tell me about nightlife in Linz.

Okay, basically, where all the people hang out is the Old Town. There’s lots of pubs and bars and clubs there – just go where the light and people are ;)
I highly recommend El Mariachi, which is a small but great bar, they have cheap but really yummy cocktails there. Right next to it there’s the Tequila Man – if you want to get drunk cheaply, that’s your address grins
As for hanging out with friends, the Living Room is great. If you like metal music, you should go to the Ostbahn which is right by the Danube.
All of these are in the Old Town, whithin walking distance of the tram, taxis and a McDonald’s. So there’s everything you need. I hope you have a nice stay in my home town.
