Though it’s not a hostel, I have had amazing luck through hospitalityclub.org (couchsurfing is similar and has a lot of users, though all my Seattle contacts are on HC)—lots of super friendly people giving free accomodation all over the area, not to mention they have the “in” on what to do and where to go much of the time. :)

aye they’re all right. But really you should pick a house to stay in, you’ll have alot more fun. Most are on capitol hill/u-district, but I’m sure you could find one downtown.
