Episode 3:
21 May; Motel Parking Lot; Atwood, Kansas: I could only find one motel in town, and it appeared to be closed for the night. I parked in the lot and walked across to a campground to use the toilet. The 50-mile-per-hour winds of earlier in the evening were dying down. I crawled into the car, put a jacket over my head, and went to sleep.
