Not worth visiting!

Site of West End Gardens Motel

Another Rt. 40 site of architectural interest that fell victim to my curse. Shortly after the Bata shoe factory was demolished (see entry for Belcamp, MD), I developed a crush on the West End Gardens Motel west of Elkton. Immediately thereafter, the building was resurfaced and re-painted a rather drab tan color. Ugh.

There’s a building I like now in Aberdeen, but if I admit my crush publicly, it, too, may fall victim to my curse.

west end gardens motel

This motel is bueatiful, it has just been renovated inside and outside. I loved the service. The same company that owns the motel is building a humongous store called basic food right next to the motel. It is resurfaced a bueatiful brown color with a blue roof and matching blue doors with brand new windows. I loved my stay here and I hope you will to.

Goodbye, West End

The new colors are awful and I’m not sure who would shop in a grocery across the street (and often downwind of) a sewage treatment plant.
