A tip I have about this place

I love Vancouver’s Chinatown. Just a tip: it borders on the downtown slum area, so get advice on which streets to stay away from before you go! (The locals should be able to tell you what the boundaries of the notorious “downtown eastside” are.)

If only I had know...

I once booked a really cheap room while visiting Vancouver in the heart of the Chinatown slums on Hastings street. It was by far the sketchiest part of the city, but the bus service was superb along Hastings street. The buses came what seemed like once every minute for most of the day.
