be sure to get off the loop road and hike, bike, walk or run on the carriage roads. Built in the 1920’s by JD Rockefeller commissioning Mr Olmstead (who planned and developed Central Park in NYC. This caused quite the controversy @ the time, ruining the natural surroundings. Today, any worry of such is put to rest. Lots off hikes

Get off the road

I agree with the statement to get off the road… I always tell people if you have done the LOOP and have not walked or biked the carriage trails or hiked any of the trails, you have not seen this park. The crowds rarely bother me because I have learned to take the busses & head into the woods!
