Worth visiting!

really very cool

Sanev and I went to see the Singing Ringing Tree twice, recently. The first time was on a day on which gale force winds were attacking the valley, and we could hear nary a sound from the pipes. The structure was striking, but it was a let down that it didn’t interact with the environment to produce sound (which, after all, was the unique and attracting feature of the spectacle).

Our second visit was on a mildly breezy day. The pipes produced a lovely, peaceful, humming song which perfectly complemented the pastoral environs. It’s definitely worth a visit, but be sure to go on a not-too-windy day, in order to have the full experience – sound as well as sight.

This is a great example of excellence in public art, and must be seen (and heard)!

Too bad you can't video the experience to share

Some of us are only able to travel in our minds, but this does sound like awonderful thing to experience. I simply enjoy art of all types, but one that embraces the senses like this one is truly unique! Thanks for sharing your experience

I love your username, lovin lovinlife2.

I didn’t record a video, but many others have, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B0hGyKV9qs

Thanks very much for expressing your appreciation! I enjoy reading others’ posts about places I’ve never been and can’t go, so I hope other people get as much out of my posts, as well.
