on Parker.
It consists of farming south of Parker for many, many miles between Parker and Blythe. Parker is actually 1 square mile. One side is the Colorado River, the other 3 sides are owned by the Colorado River Indian Tribe (CRIT). Parker sometime more than 20 yrs ago was annexed, and I believe they have a golf course and I don’t know what else out in that area.
So, owning private property in Parker is a scarcity as it’s only comprised of the 1 square mile and the annexed property that is probably 10-15 miles out of the Parker proper.
North of Parker on the Colorado strip, CRIT rents out for LONG durations property. This serves things for tourism for the river and there are a lot of boating places. This also runs for many miles between here and Lake Havasu.
Parker hosts many boat races and their most famous is the Endura. It also is home to the Score 400, which is a famous off road race where off roaders come from all over the world to compete.
As a past time for many, people get into drinking. Quite sad. Many alcoholics around. This was a little po dunk town to grow up in in the middle of nowhere.
We did not get our first McDonald’s until probably 1990, which is well after I graduated high school. Growing up we had KFC, Dairy Queen, and A&W for fast food.
