My dad and my uncle, as well as other members of my family, camp near Shaver Lake quite often. It is very beautiful, and I love to hike down to the river. If you’ve got a trailer/RV/etc, you can stay at the campgrounds, or you can stay in “The Meadow” (with no hookups) for free.

Very much worth a visit.
