What I want to do at this place

I want to honeymoon here. I hope September is a good time to visit.

Yes...

I’d say September is a good time, though it will be a little bit chilly. There are some really nice places you can stay, lodges and stuff like that.

If you live somewhere that gets snow or fairly cold then I’m sure you’d be used to it anyway. NZ is a beautiful country so make sure you go!

Chilly, ha!

Yeah, we were both born and raised in Alaska. No problem there. Thank you!

september

i went in mid-september last year and the east coast of the north island was beautiful, but yeah, other places were wet, windy, and a bit chilly. however, there were hardly any tourists so that was awesome.

Good things about September

There will still be snow on the skifields in the South Island.

Daffodils will be blooming in Hagley Park in Christchurch.

Tulips will be blooming in the Botanic Gardens in Wellington.

Lambs will be skipping around farms all over New Zealand.

It’s not peak tourist season.

Provided you take on board the advice others have given here and have clothing to cope with cold and wet weather, you will be fine. As you note, you’re from Alaska, so I’m sure you can cope with anything New Zealand might throw at you weatherwise.

Also make sure you bring clothing for warm weather too. The main point about the New Zealand spring is that it’s very changeable, so don’t assume anything.
